While there’s certainly a lot to love about living in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, part of the appeal is having many of the city’s best and most critically acclaimed restaurants right in your own backyard, so-to-speak. As one of the nation’s best cities for foodies and fine dining, dozens of mouth-watering restaurants, eateries, and cafés fill the streets of downtown Chicago, especially here in River North.
Like the River North real estate market however, the River North dining scene is always changing and evolving, with new restaurants opening at what seems like a mind-blowing rate. So, if you’re a little bit behind on where some of the best places are in the neighborhood to see, and be seen at, here’s a look at some of the hottest River North restaurants in 2014:
RPM Italian | 52 W. Illinois
A modern Italian restaurant with some classic Italian dishes, this joint venture from celebrity couple Bill and Giuliana Rancic, Chef Doug Psaltis, and Lettuce Entertain You is definitely as good as advertised.
Bohemian House | 11 W. Illinois
The exposed brick walls, wood timber ceilings, and the sophisticated décor of “BoHo” certainly capture the essence of River North’s modish vibe, while the food here is Bohemian-inspired, with inspirations also stemming from the Czech Republic, Germany, and Austria.
Sixteen | 401 N. Wabash
Situated on the 16th floor of Trump International Hotel & Tower® Chicago, this Michelin Star restaurant is where you want to go to truly experience fine dining in the heart of downtown Chicago.
RPM Steak | 66 W. Kinzie
After more than two years of planning, RPM Steak, a contemporary steakhouse spin-off from RMP Italian, is finally open and delighting everyone who’s made the visit over to its location at 66 W. Kinzie thus far. Although River North is loaded with steakhouses, this one is off the charts!
